Privacy information
This page describes how the Aperture North website, served from startrail.click, approaches personal data. The site is an educational, editorial project. It does not sign you up for commercial services, does not run in-game purchases, and does not distribute software from these pages. Any limits described here are genuine constraints of our setup, not marketing language, because trust is a design material like type and spacing.
Data we intend to collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. The pages you read are primarily static. If you use the contact form, you choose to provide a return address in the form of an email, and a message. That transmission may pass through a hosting provider that records technical metadata, such as IP address and time, in standard server logs. We do not use those logs to build advertising profiles, because this site is not an advertising product. We may review logs in security incidents, or to understand technical failures, with the same calm frequency that a small studio looks at crash reports: rarely, and with a practical goal.
Email correspondence
When you write to support@startrail.click, your message is stored in a mailbox the way any email is stored. We do not sell mailing lists, and we do not add you to a newsletter unless you explicitly ask to be added and we have such a list in the future, in which case this section will be updated to describe the sign-up and unsubscribe path clearly. We keep correspondence only as long as it remains useful to answer questions, or to remember a context that could prevent a repeated mistake, after which it may be deleted as part of ordinary mailbox hygiene. We are not a large enterprise with a formal retention engine; we describe our intent honestly rather than promise a number we cannot maintain.
Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
We use a local preference in your browser, via localStorage when available, to remember a choice about a simple cookie notice banner, as described on the cookie page. The legal framework that matters to you will depend on your country; we try to follow good practices: clear options, a decline path, and a way to reopen the choice. We do not run behavioral advertising on these pages, and if that ever changes, this policy will be updated with plain detail before the change, not after.
Children and schools
Our writing is for a general adult audience, including students in higher education, but the site does not market to children and does not attempt to collect data from them. Teachers who assign reading should use their institution’s own guidance. If a minor accidentally sends a message with personal data, a guardian may write to the contact email to request reasonable deletion, and we will do what a small static site and mailbox can do without pretending to a legal jurisdiction we are not in.
Your rights in principle
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete information about you. This site is unlikely to hold more than an email thread you initiated. You can request deletion, and if we can identify your messages, we will remove them, subject to a narrow exception if we are legally required to retain something, which is uncommon for a publication of this type. This paragraph is not legal advice; it is a human explanation of a respectful approach.
Where we are, on paper
Postal correspondence and context for the project may be associated with: İstiklal Mahallesi, Cumhuriyet Caddesi No: 45, Beyoğlu, 34433 Istanbul, Turkey, alongside the contact email. The address is included so that a reader or regulator can see that we are not pretending to be nowhere. It does not mean we operate a public counter with regular hours, because we do not.
Changes to this text
We may update this page when the world changes, or when our host changes, or when we add a feature that has privacy implications, such as search that logs queries. The updated page will be posted at this address, and the top of the page will mention the general season of the edit so that a returning reader can see motion. We will not use cute tricks to hide changes in the middle of a paragraph without a note, because a reader’s trust in us is a shared resource, not a private hoard.
