Aperture North

Terms of use

Expectations, limits, and respect for the text.

Using this website

By reading and browsing startrail.click, you agree to these simple terms, written to be read by humans rather than to impress search engines. If you disagree, you can stop using the site; there is no account to close. The site is provided as a free informational and educational publication about game development, game design, player experience, and related topics, without a guarantee of any particular result in your work or studies, because the future is not a product we can ship from a static server. This does not mean we do not take care in our writing; it means the law, like good design, asks for an honest limit.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, financial, medical, or business advice for your specific situation. If a paragraph about production sounds like a recommendation, it is a pattern description for classroom discussion, not a substitute for a professional who knows your country’s laws and your contracts. If a paragraph about accessibility sounds strict, that is a craft stance, not a claim that a court will agree with a particular interpretation. When in doubt, ask a professional who has a duty to you, not a magazine that has a love for the subject.

Copyright and permitted reuse

The text, page layout, and original graphics on Aperture North are created for this publication, unless a quotation or reference is clearly marked. Reasonable educational quotation with attribution is welcome under the practice that teachers already use: cite the page title and domain, and do not present the material as an official endorsement. Mass copying, scraping for training datasets without permission, or republishing the full pages under another brand is not the spirit of this work. If a library or school needs a formal permission letter for a specific use case, ask by email, and we will answer in plain terms.

Third parties

We may link to outside documentation, public talks, or reference materials. Those sites have their own terms and policies. A link is not a blanket endorsement, only a signpost, the way a city map does not vouch for every building it names. If a link breaks, tell us, and we will try to find an archive or updated reference, time allowing.

Availability, maintenance, and reality

We do not promise uninterrupted availability. Hosting providers have outages, humans get sick, and the world can reroute network paths in ways no footer notice can prevent. The site may change, grow thinner, or take a sabbatical. If a page disappears, a search engine cache is not a contract, only a memory. A reader who needs a text for a citation should print or store a local copy, the way a careful scholar keeps a PDF of an article they care about, because libraries move shelves.

Contact and address

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@startrail.click. The postal line for the project is: İstiklal Mahallesi, Cumhuriyet Caddesi No: 45, Beyoğlu, 34433 Istanbul, Turkey. A letter is slower than an email, but it can be the right form for certain institutions, and we list it to avoid a ghostly presence on the internet with no place on a map. That presence unnerves us too.

Updates

When these terms change in a way that meaningfully alters the bargain, we will add a short note at the top of the page with the season of the edit, not because we want to create anxiety about “versions,” but because trust benefits from a visible trail. A reader who has linked to a paragraph should be able to see whether the context still matches.
